A data migration or import service booked through Gera resulted in records being lost, corrupted, or not migrated — where the data loss was caused by the provider's process and not pre-existing data issues.

This is a limited service guarantee, not insurance. Gera Services Ltd is not regulated as an insurer. Claims are capped and resolved through Gera mediation.

Eligibility Criteria

All of the following must be true for a claim to be considered:

  • Data migration booked through a Gera platform with a signed action receipt
  • Provider held an active Gera Services Passport at Expert or Elite tier
  • Data loss or corruption discovered and reported within 48 hours of completion
  • The source data was provided in full and in the agreed format
  • Evidence of data loss is provided (count comparison, missing record sample)

What Is Not Covered

Exclusions specific to this claim type:

  • Data that was corrupted or missing in the source system before migration began
  • Data loss caused by customer modifying the source system during migration
  • Consequential business losses — only the service fee is within warranty scope
  • Migrations where no prior backup was made — customer's responsibility to maintain backups

How to Make a Claim

Follow these steps in order. Evidence must be submitted within the claim window.

    Do not overwrite or delete source data — preserve the original state

    Open the action receipt within 48 hours and tap "Raise a concern — data migration issue"

    Describe the data gap: what was expected, what was delivered, and how you identified the loss

    Upload evidence (record counts, export comparison, error logs if available)

  5. 5

    Gera and the provider review within 48 hours

  6. 6

    Resolution: re-migration at no charge, or capped refund of migration fees
